Tiger woods’ quits golf indefinitely was the breaking news this morning. He has not been seen in public since his car crash over a fortnight ago,
His decision to quit the sport was plastered all over his website. He said of his troublesome times over the last couple of weeks that he needs to take time out to be a better father and husband to his wife and kids. He went onto say he needs to work on his relationship and repair the damage he has done. I often wonder in some cases of infidelity does the adulterer really want to repair the damage they have done to others or their ego.

It was also announced that other work and duties was to be put on hold. His responsibilities from Tiger Woods Foundation – a charity he set up with his late father to help young people is to sit on the back burner till a designated time.
He is aware that this whole infidelity thing has caused his family so much sorrow and pain, and would like for people and the media to respect his decision to quit golf. Tiger Woods asked to be left alone pointing out it’s a family matter and that he would like to keep it private. Hey Mr. Woods if you had kept the “tiger in your pants” you wouldn’t have to be begging for forgiveness or whatever. Not only is it your wife and kids that get to suffer here but millions of fans that idolize you, or maybe did now that this has all come to light. His biggest sponsor, Nike, have no intentions of turning their back on him.  I always believed sponsorship was about promoting a product or a service but I must be wrong because how can Tiger Woods possibly promote clothes and footwear if not playing the sport. Well I suppose the marriage counselor may be in need of a new pair of trainers.
Nike said they would continue to stand by Tiger Woods who said he was “profoundly sorry” and asked for forgiveness from everyone that has been affected by this. Tiger Woods asked everyone, including his fans, the good people at his foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and his fellow competitors, for their understanding. Looking at the matter he seems to have got this but will the support be there if something else creeps out from the woodwork, and you may bet it will. When you transgress you don’t impress so remember that.
He has been married to his wife Elin for five years and they have a two-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son. There has been rumor that Tiger Woods may not return to the fairway, this somehow tells me there is lot more to repair in his relationship than he is telling us.
Tour commissioner Tim Finches said the celebrity’s decision to quit golf was because his “priorities are where they need to be” – and I say that’s in his own bed if you ask me.
